The same as the other charcoal tests that I have done for a bit of fun and to offer some insights into different charcoals. I fill the same starter chimney with charcoal, weigh it, light it, and then the flames hit near the top and go into the gateway Drum Smoker. The Flame Boss 500 maintains the set temperature at 230°F, and we can see how hard the fan has to work to do so. We can see the temperature fluctuations measured by the Flame Boss and compare them to the readings from the TermaQ, a calibrated thermometer.

Notes:
Charcoal weighed in at 4.943 kg, 7 large pieces.
Burn Time is incredibly long, 8 hours, but was still 115f at 21 hours.
Pit temperature was stable (ish), and the fan was working as it seemed to burn from one log to the next.
It was incredibly difficult to light because the holes were blocked in the middle, and it was very dense. In the end, I lit some lumpwood charcoal to get it going, but it makes up for it in burn time.
